Isaac's Sour Cream Herring
SOUR CREAM HERRING
4 whole Herring Fillets
1 container 206 gr sour cream (15%
Shamenet)
1 Tbs Mayonnaise
2 Tbs Apple cider vinegar
1 Tbs sugar
1 Tsp pickling spice
2 Bay leaves (crumbled)
1 Tsp lemon juice
1 Tbs olive oil
1 small onion diced
1/4 Tsp garlic powder
1/4 Tsp black pepper
Chopped dill (to taste)
Rinse fillets in cold water; drain.
Dry on paper towels; cut into 1 inch pieces. Add all ingredients in bowl and
mix. Add herring pieces and mix. Refrigerate covered for 24 hours or longer.
